May News - Adopt-a-Park Service Project/Activity

-The semiannual (third Saturday in May/Sept) Utah Water Ski Club Adopt-a-Park service project/activity will be held Saturday May 17th from 10 am to noon, lunch from Goodwood BBQ at noon. In addition to picking up trash we will cutting down Phragmites in the campground area and cleaning up the beach area that needs weeds chopped down and boulders moved. The State Park will provide some wheel barrows, sheers, saws, rakes, shovels, etc but usually not enough so bring your own tools if you have themAll club members are required to attend one Adopt-a-Park service project every year or go down to Utah Lake State Park on your own and ask a park ranger what you an do, you will need to fill out a volunteer sheet if you go on your own. E-mail the board by May 15th and let the board know if you will be attending and how many in your group will be eating lunch. You can also RSVP on the clubs Facebook page  If you use Facebook still let us know who many in your group will be eating lunch.

-Membership cards (see back for discounts) and boat stickers will be given out to those members that did not pick them up at the annual meeting in February, same key as the last 8+ years. Please welcome the three new members (Rick Oldroyd, Ryan Christopher, and Scott Rees) to the club when you see them. If you lost your key e-mail Garn Arnold for a new one, new members will also get a key.

-After the service project Utah Water Sports is scheduled to have their 2014 MasterCraft ProStar to demo and Peterson Marine the new Pavati. If you would like to ski behind/drive one of these new boats at course #3 go to the below link and list your name, you will need to find you own way to course #3. The boat demo will be subject to weather and as of now times are just approximate.

-Course #3 and #4 are currently up, currently both docks are at course #3. Tim Peterson and Dan Johnson are installing trex on the older dock that should be maintenance free for the next 20+ years. With the low water this year course #3 will likely only be usable until mid June then we will be on course #4 the rest of the summer. When driving to course #3 please use the shortcut when the water is above -2.75 so you don't send rollers into the course. Go to for driving directions to course #3 that shows the shortcut and where/how to drive when the water is below -2.75.
