May news - Adopt-a-Park Service Project/Activity

-The semiannual (third Saturday in May/Sept) Utah Water Ski Club Adopt-a-Park service project/activity will be held Saturday May 16th from 10 am to noon, lunch from Goodwood BBQ at noon. In addition to picking up trash we will be moving rocks off of the beach. The State Park will provide some wheel barrows and trash bags so all you really need to bring is gloves and clothing you can get muddy/dirtyAll club members are required to attend one Adopt-a-Park service project every year or go down to Utah Lake State Park on your own and ask what you can do for one hour. If you go down on your own make sure you fill out a "Volunteer Agreement and Time Record" then take a picture of it with your phone (can also scan) then e-mail it to to get credit.

-Please e-mail the club by May 14th and let the board know if you will be attending and how many in your group will be eating lunch. You can also RSVP on the clubs Facebook page as well at If you use Facebook make sure you note how many in your group will be eating lunch.

-Membership cards (see back for discounts) and boat stickers have been sent out to all paid members, same key as the last 8+ years. Please welcome the three new members (Kent Rominger, David Sikich, and Brad Caldwell) to the club when you see them. If you lost your key or have not received your membership card e-mail Garn Arnold for a new one.

-After/during the service project we need some members to help move course #3 dock to the harbor to be taken out and placed in dry storage for the coming year due to low water. If you can help move the dock e-mail Tim Peterson and let him know.

-Course #4a is currently up and will be usable through about the end of June (good until -4.75) at which point we will move to course #4b for the rest of the summer/fall. See below picture for course locations and remember that is is shallow at the west end of course #4a so veer to the north when dropping. The club does plan to move course #4a two buoys to the east some time this summer so the shallow area on the west end will be less of a problem in the future.

Happy Skiing!
